Mold Removal

If you’ve discovered mold in your home, it’s important that you quickly take action to solve the problem. If left untreated, mold can spread quickly – often in as little as 48-72 hours. Once it spreads, it can lead to health problems for your entire family.

Mold occurs around a water source, usually a leak of some kind. That’s one of the reasons why we recommend proper insulation, as it fills in cracks that can lead to leaks. However, if you already have mold, the priority is removing it and preventing it from recurring.

For many homeowners, it’s not uncommon for mold to be found in the attic. In fact, roughly 50% of all homes have mold in the attic, and yet, 95% of the time, that mold goes unnoticed. It’s not surprising that mold is commonly found in attics. That’s because condensation forms and builds up when hot air meets cold air. If not properly insulated, your attic provides the perfect environment for hot air and cold air to meet. That makes it the perfect breeding ground for mold.

If you’ve spotted mold in your attic, contact us or give us a call immediately at 1-800-668-0311. Our highly trained technicians will walk you through the mold removal process, and recommend the best course of action for your particular situation.

Typically, the mold removal process takes about 3-4 days, during which we work with Canada Restoration Services.

On the first day, our technicians will blast away all of the mold from your sheeting and joists. This dislodges and kills the mold, eliminating the growth – for now. Then, to help prevent it from returning, we coat the attic with an anti-microbial solution. This kills any spores we might have missed, and provides long-term protection.

On the second day, we’ll return and remove all of your affected insulation. Mold can be present here even if it’s not visible to the naked eye, so it’s important that we remove any insulation that could be harboring growth. This also helps us to determine the source of the mold growth, so that we can treat the problem at the source.

On the third day, we’ll replace the insulation. During this time, our experts will likely recommend a moisture-resistant option, so that you can seal any cracks and leaks, effectively stopping the problem before it starts.

During the mold removal process, potentially harmful spores could be released into the air. That’s why we strongly recommend that you don’t try to remove the mold yourself. Our technicians have been trained to efficiently remove the mold in a way that is safe to you and your family.

If you’ve noticed mold growing in your home, take action right away. Call the experts at Insta-Insulation, and we’ll help you with the mold removal process. After all, the last thing you want to do is take any chances with your family’s health.
