Home Attic Insulation and Attic Upgrades

There are many insulation systems from which to choose for home attics. The choice often comes down to traditional application methods versus modern application methods. For many cases, the traditional application system is suitable, and this typically involves adding more ventilation and blowing more cellulose into the structure. At Insta-Insulation, we approach the traditional method in older homes by thoroughly extracting all old insulation before tightening the attic deck. Following this, new soffit vents are installed. A layer of spray foam is then added into the structure, followed by a top layer of cellulose fiber to bring the insulation up to building code or greater. A new approach to attic sealing and insulation is the 2-in-1 hot roof system, wherein two pounds of medium density foam is sprayed onto the entire underside of the attic roof.
