Spray Foam Insulation
Insta insulation is a major applicator of
polyurethane spray in place cavity wall insulation systems.
We use WALLTITE®
as our spray in place foam because it is the only polyurethane
spray foam that is CCMC recognized as an insulation, air-barrier
and as an air-barrier system:
- CCMC # 12840 for an insulation
- CCMC # 12877 for air-barrier
- CCMC # 12932 as an air-barrier system.
CCMC is the Canadian Construction Material
Centre and is part of the National research Council(NRC) .
WALLTITE®
is an HCFC-based spray applied polyurethane foam system intended
for various insulation/air-barrier applications. The foam
is blue in colour when it is applied. WALLTITE® has been
formulated to meet the air barrier and insulation requirements
of residential and non-residential buildings in a single step.
Applying WALLTITE® will help to create a total air barrier
system.
Since WALLTITE®
is sprayed-in-place it provides greater buildability of all
exterior envelopes. It can maintain continuity over the many
imperfections and discontinuities that are experienced with
wall assemblies. These can include irregular walls, corners,
gaps, masonry ties, equipment penetrations, ductwork, plumbing,
etc. WALLTITE® is 100% adhered to virtually any substrate
it is applied to and since it is seamless it is the best air
barrier product for new and retrofit construction. Because
WALLTITE®
- resists air leakage under all wind loads,
- has high structural strength,
- adheres to all surfaces, smooth or irregular, and
- bridges gaps,
- It controls moisture transfer by vapour diffusion and
air barrier more effectively than any other readily available
insulation
Insta Insulation has applied WALLTITE®
as the air/vapour barrier system on all types of buildings;
schools, office buildings, factories and institutions. |

WALLTITE® is a one step process that provides a lap
free, airtight, monolithic envelope of low permeability closed cell
moisture resistant insulation that adheres tenaciously to virtually
all surfaces, smooth or irregular.
Q: Why is spray foam so effective?
A: Stops Air Infiltration. Minimizes air flow, seals gaps
that cause drafts, increases comfort and provides better humidity
control.
A: High Insulation Value. It has the highest R-value per
inch of any readily available insulation, R6/inch. (R- means resistance
to heat flow.) Allows for more insulation in tighter spaces.
A: It's a Sprayed Application. This means cracks and crevices
are sealed, hard to reach areas are easily insulated, needs no fasteners
to hold in place.
A: Its moisture resistant. The closed cell structure deters
moisture driven elements.
A: Its rigid. Polyurethane foam does not sag or pack down.
Where traditional batt insulation may sag and lose insulation value,
polyurethane retains its original R-value. High degree of strength
to weight ratio.
A: Its Code Approved. Polyurethane foam meets or exceeds
building code requirements and is listed in the National Building
Code of Canada and the Ontario Building Code. WALLTITE®
is CCMC evaluated for insulation, air barrier and as an air barrier
system.
