Insta-Insulation is a certified applicator of the Premium Liquid Rubber® membrane system. This system represents a major advantage over all previous coatings for similar uses.

The Premium Liquid Rubber® is a cold-sprayed applied instant set membrane system that was developed to address the need of recurring problems encountered by conventional membrane systems. This waterborne system is applied at ambient temperatures creating a monolithic seamless membrane.
The Premium Liquid Rubber® membrane system has independent strength equal to or exceeding top quality sheet membranes, with an amazing 1650% elongation and 90% recovery Premium Liquid Rubber® membrane system will not become brittle or crack during thermocycling. |

Application

Premium Liquid Rubber® is applied by our applicators, which have been certified by the manufacturer of the product. PLR is applied with specialized equipment.

Limitations
Premium Liquid Rubber® should not be applied when ambient temperature is below 10°C (50°F). Uncured product is subject to damage if frozen. Do not apply to wet or frosted surfaces. Do not apply in the rain or if rain is imminent. Make sure surface is dry and clean of dirt, oil, grease or any debris.

What is the difference between the Premium Liquid Rubber® Membrane System and other conventional products?
PLR represents a breakthrough in waterproofing and corrosion protection because it is cold spray applied, without the use of potentially dangerous torches or kettles associated with traditional membranes. Furthermore, PLR is a seamless and full bonded to the surface without the unnecessary labour costs and environmental concerns typically found in conventional systems. Most existing membranes require seams or joint details and mechanical or chemical fastening techniques that generally become the source of that membrane’s failure. PLR is smooth and seamless and cures to 80% almost instantly.
How chemical resistant is Premium Liquid Rubber®?
PLR has been tested against over 100 different chemicals to determine its resistance to various concentrations and also various temperatures. If you require protection against a particular chemical, please contact Insta-Insulation for suitability of PLR for your surface. We have many coatings for a variety of circumstances and we will work with you to find the best product.
What is the curing time for Premium Liquid Rubber®?
The nominal standard curing time is 72 hrs at 20 ° C/70 ° F. With average humidity levels, cure time depends on thickness applied and areas of application (i.e. Tanks or roofing) Typically, PLR cures to 80% almost instantly when it reaches the surface.
Does Premium Liquid Rubber® come in different colours?
No, PLR only comes in black. It can be top coated to a desired colour, but this topcoat would merely offer aesthetic properties. PLR is a full protection membrane. PLR can be over coated after 24 hours (after water rinse and dry).
To what surfaces will Premium Liquid Rubber bond®?
PLR bonds to steel, concrete, timber, bituminous and many other substrates.
How flexible is Premium Liquid Rubber®?
The PLR system is able to elongate to 1650% and then recover to 90%, enabling it to resist thermal cycling and some underlying structural movement (i.e. vibrations)
If punctured, PLR will self heal and reseal itself.
