Blown Insulation
Insulation applications such as attics and enclosed wall
cavities can be blown with either fiberglass(R-3/inch) or
cellulose fibers(R-3.85/inch of thickness). R-value is the
resistance to heat flow, the greater the number the higher
the resistance.
Cellulose
The Climatizer Plus cellulose blowing insulation used by
Insta Insulation consists of shredded newsprint that has been
treated with an anti-fungal, fire retardant product. Made
of 100% recycled paper, the cellulose is "Fiberized"
- a process that separates the individual cellulose wood fibers
themselves.
Fiberglass
At Insta Insulation, the fiberglass we use is identical to
the batts you can buy at most building suppy stores with the
following exception: it has been chopped & ground up to
allow blowing.
Applications
Typical attic insulation applications are for either R-32(Building
code minimum) or R-40. But any amount of insulation is possible.
For wall cavities the R-value of the insulation is limited
by the depth of the cavity.
Ventilation
Be sure to ask your Insta Insulation Professional about potential
ventilation hazards and how to remedy them.
