Heat is transferred from the higher temperature area to
the lower temperature area through a combination of conduction,

What is R-Value?
R-value represents a material’s thermal resistance.
The higher the R-value, the better the materials performance
as an insulator. Therefore, R-20 is a better insulator than
an R-10.
However, R-value is not the only important factor for insulation.
One must also look at the
- Moisture resistance quality
- Air-barrier quality
- Mould-resistance quality and
- Long term thermal resistance (how long will that insulation
still have all these qualities and R-value)
